Holiday reTREEt
Friends of the Lake County Fairground invite all Lake County non-profits to help create a holiday forest scene inside the Ronan Community Center during the annual Lights Under the Big Sky.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the top three decorated trees that receive the most votes from the community. Voting will be with tokens, one given to each person coming through the ticket booth over all 4 nights of the event, the 13th, 14th, 20th, and 21st of December. Votes will be tallied at the end Lights Under the Big Sky, and winners notified the following week.
The rules are simple:
1) The event is limited to one entry per group.
2) Any artificial or homemade tree under 8’ tall is acceptable and must have a good base for support. (There will be many families strolling through the area.)
3) Feel free to express your creativity and originality, but it should be in good taste and suitable for display at a family-oriented event.
4) Any decorations may be used as long as they are on the tree and do not include any electric parts. (Battery powered lights may be used but you are responsible for turning them on and off each day.)
5) Bring a sign (no large than 12X12, on card stock of cardboard) showing your nonprofits name and how it supports the community. (We will attach it to the candy cane/voting container by your tree, at sign-in on December 13th.)
6) You may set your tree up Friday, December 13th, inside the Ronan Community Center, between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. All trees must be removed between Noon and 2 pm. on Sunday, December 22nd. Trees that are not removed will be donated. Since this is an annual event, you may want your tree to decorate next year!
Call Dana at 240-0640 by Dec. 1st to register your entry.
